Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Lawson Public School, a vibrant and inclusive learning community in the heart of the Blue Mountains. At Lawson, students are at the centre of everything we do. We are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where every child is encouraged to be curious, creative, and collaborative, fostering growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our school values respect, curiosity, and teamwork as the foundation of our culture. When students feel safe and valued, they are more confident to explore new ideas and engage deeply with their learning. Our committed and skilled staff provide tailored teaching to meet diverse needs, supporting each student to achieve their personal best and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We celebrate the diversity of our community, ensuring that every student—regardless of background or ability—feels welcomed and respected. Inclusion is a daily practice, promoting cultural awareness and recognising the importance of the Dharug and Gundungurra Aboriginal heritage as well as our broader multicultural community.

Our broad and balanced curriculum includes strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, alongside programs in the arts, sport, leadership, and extracurricular activities. These opportunities help students build confidence and develop essential life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving. Environmental education reflects our commitment to sustainability and caring for the Blue Mountains’ unique surroundings.

Education at Lawson is a partnership between school, family, and community. We value strong relationships with parents and carers, fostering regular communication and involvement to support every student’s wellbeing and success.

I invite you to explore our website and discover the values and community spirit that make Lawson Public School a special place to learn and grow.
